I have been praying over the past few months that God would use my skills to glorify His kingdom. One of our pastors at College Park Church recently put praying this way: that we would ask God for open doors and we would be given His wisdom to run through that door with Him. God has recently blessed me with a potential open door with Taylor University and more than anything else, I pray that God's will would be done with this potential ministry opportunity.
The purpose of this blog is to help Taylor University develop a sense of who I am in Christ. Throughout this interview process, I will periodically post articles related to my faith and how this shapes the way I bring Christ into the workplace and Christ into the way I use Marketing to spread His word. I can't think of a better set of verses about ministry and marketing working in combination than 2 Corinthians 4: 1-3. This will be the theme verse for this blog and also represents that way I think about Marketing.
"Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God." - The Apostle Paul
Lord, I pray that this blog would be a representation of your love for me and as a place for Taylor University to make the best decision regarding this ministry opportunity. I ask that you bless this interview process and that Taylor can select the best candidate for the position whether that is me or someone else who you have called to this important position.
In His Name,
Todd McCall
